iMedia 2008 released BIG UPDATE NOTICE!!!

It's finally here: iMedia 2008 is finally released to the public. They have left the best surprise for last: you don't even have to download the application. Just go here to start. Also: the iTV update is coming very soon. They have the new iEon player up 'n running right now. They just need to configure a few things before the update is released.

Ok I've just recieved word that MiiCom will be making a PRO version in SunSesta code for iMedia '08. Now, the video player for iTV in that one will be the more advanced one that MiiCom predicted to have in their original design of iMedia '08. They've recently changed the free, regular version to have a simple ad supported player. (In this case the sponsor is YouTube) They helped get MiiCom a player for free for the free version together. The PRO version will feature MiiCom's top notch video player. (which frankly takes a lot more work to make this time 'round. We hope you enjoy your copy of iMedia '08 and don't forget to watch for that iTV update it'll be released as soon as all of the shows are ready.

New update with iBrowse

I'm making yet another extension to iBrowse for MiiCom. this 3.3 update WILL feature tabbed browsing! A few people have commented on how pointless a browser in browser is but I think it's just kind of cool to develop and make. Now, the tabbed browsing will have to be again updated once released because you cannot add nor close any tabs yet. I'm working on a feature that will allow that to happen. I've also thought of changing the idea of this browser in browser. I'd like to think of it more along the lines of a virtual browser because it doesn't run or take up space on your computer, but it works for the most part. Anyway, I will temporarily give the address to the webpage for the app until iLabor '08 is released but anyway I guess thats it for today.

Final Post Until...

This will be the final post about iMedia '08 until it comes out. That way I'm not totally spamming my blog about it... Anyway, some recent press releases say that iMedia '08's coding makes it perfect for virtually ANY environment including Windows, Mac, and Linux because it's built using a nicer version of the beloved HTML. It's also very nice because it requires ONE html file on your computer. And I'm not sure how big it is, but it can't be over 99kb I know that for sure. Plus you don't have to download updates because it's linked right to the internet so that MiiCom can issue updates without any hassle. But, in the future, it will work it's way into a normal application that doesn't have one version that works on all systems...

MiiCom also recently released that they will also be starting a short little package called iLabor '08. (Yes, they did say it sounded like they're copying Apple but they're not trying to.) So far it will feature programs like iServr, iBrowse 3.2 and iMail 5.4.1. (All of which right now are not that advanced because they need to be communicating with any system out there so give 'em a break.) There are said to be 1 or 2 more applications in this bundle but I'm not sure.

Last thing:
Finally, before we wrap this up, iMedia '08 will probably be shipped with a non-functioning iTV feature but they will issue an update that will fix it shortly after. This makes it easier that way they can get part of the product out and just put in a bug fix. (There's a user poll which I'm going to send to MiiCom on which type of player should they use: YouTube, MetaCafe or *their own*)

*their own would take longer to make with perfect functionality but could possibly be worth it more than just a YoutTube player (which may just be used temporarily)

iMedia '08 (updated)

MiiCom recently started, but not finished, a project called iMedia '08. (Yes, it's free) It has every feature on i-mi.com like iTV, MiiChat, and MusicX° (now its AmpliFI). The only thing they are working on now is AmpliFI and a bit more with iTV. MiiChat is set and ready but they'll only offer the entire package. I've also heard that AmpliFI will have a feature that connects to your iTunes library for music but I'm not exactly sure. iMedia '08 will work on virtually ANY system because its written in S°ion7 Pro (in other words a really souped up HTML type language). One problem (I think): all of the programs ( except possibly AmpliFI if it connects to iTunes) require internet access. That's all I know for now. Hopefully I'll update later.

Update:

Ok, for now, AmpliFI will only show the songs on the top ten list on iTunes. It won't yet have a connection with your iTunes library. Also: there has been a huge recall on iMedia '08. They had a HUGE menu scripting error so they have to re code all of the menus in iMedia '08. They made it basicly imposible to open files on the menu because the files were stored in a folder that was only on their computers. There was also a recall error on functionality between Mac OS X AND Windows.
They figured out that they would have to host on the net on a password protected area (the iMedia '08 package automatically loads in the password, so it's only a problem if you're tryin to access it without the iMedia package.) To be more specific, they wrote this entire package in html on a Mac using their own method of file directories. which on a Mac is: file:///...(the folder)/(the file).sion. But on Windows it's C://(Folder/(the file.exe). Hosting these programs on the net will totally fix that problem.

And it's here!

I just got my shipment of iLife '08 in from Apple. I'm going to be using it to be creating more media for the site. I may also reset our secondary site with the iWeb version which may function better... GarageBand will hopefully not only let my friends and I work on our "virtual band" the Back9 (whose blog is currently inactive sorta) and also make intro music and looping background music for both sites. I've also made some newer sounds for iChat if anyone wants a download send me a message either on my email or aim (thurb190@hotmail.com or thurbs190 on aim) (I prefer email contact...). Finally, I'd like to announce a new podcast I'm probably going to start. It's either going to be an HTML Tutorials podcast or my artist podcast which I've been thinking about doing longer and have more ideas for so it may just be that.

(also, I have fixed the order form. The spam protection code has been taken off but I don't take spam at all.)

Sidebar updat(ed) and some other stuff

Today we have our sidebar updated with our new order form and yes, I know that it's kinda messed up but we'll get to fixing that soon...(it is still usable)

In other news, MiiCom Inc. has since put a hold on producing the rest of the new DashBoard office I mentioned in my last post. I know it sounded like I was making it but I guess I'm not and MiiCom will NOT be continuing the DashBoard office series until further notice.

We also, as you can see above, updated the blog template. We now have a theme of our own and our background will be changing. If you haven't found this theme on our other site, it's because we're selfish and developed our own theme for the site.

Finally, I am announcing an update for the SunSesta BETA web template. This new one will not be useable by users visiting the site but it will show you even more of the "eye candy" interface SunSesta has.

New Project I Sidebar Update

Work '08 is going to be a new project for me. I'm going to develop a couple of applications that work seamlesly through your macintosh's Dashboard. Why Dashboard? I wanted to change the interface to see how it works having a working instead of "widgeting" Dashboard. This, hopefully, will make the Mac's Dashboard more useful in the business industry sort of anyway. I'll hopefully have it done tonight.

Package includes:
Words 1.3 - Dashboard mini text editor
iMail 5.2.1 - Dashboard Mailing application
iBrowse 3.0 BETA - Dashboard internet browser

Also: I'm installing the order form in the sidebar as a new update and iBrowse mini will be romved until further notice.
